“You have to photograph my wedding in Puerto Vallarta!”

As soon as Adam popped the question, the two knew that they wanted a destination wedding. Friends and family were happy to follow them to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and live it up at the Hard Rock Hotel and Resort.

Seriously, pinch me! Am I dreaming?! NOPE! I was happy to take the place of the “resort” photographer. I was able offer the Adam and Tara better wedding day (and pre-wedding) coverage, amazing products and a more personal experience than they would have received with a resort photographer. I mean, they do their job well and fill a need in the destination wedding market – but they are unable to provide a personalized experience. I was able to meet with the two of them, at home, before the wedding to talk shop. Once I arrived in Puerto Vallarta, I had two very relaxing days at the resort, meeting guests and hanging out with the soon-to-be bride and groom. What can be better?!

Their wedding getaway began with a welcome party the eve of the big day (see it here) where guests were served appetizers and waiters were serving drinks of choice! The next day, guests spent the day in the pool, at the day spa or lounging by the ocean. Their girls all got ready together in Tara’s room. They did each other’s hair and make-up, adjusted dresses and shoes. Tara’s three bridesmaids, helped her in to her beautiful Allure gown before heading down to the ceremony.

Adam and Tara’s ceremony took place directly on the beach.  It was in a secluded corner of the resort, away from the sounds and sights of other vacationers.  The ceremony was beautiful and elegant. White flowers, white chairs and a perfectly blue sky.  The contrasting color of the bridesmaid dresses against the sand, ocean and sky made for perfection.

More importantly, the two were not afraid to show their true colors. Adam grabbed the microphone and spoke to everyone about his excitement to marry Tara and prompted everyone to cheer. The two exchanged their own vows and there wasn’t a dry eye on the beach. Short, sweet and totally them. Their ceremony was perfect and exactly what the two had dreamed of for their Mexican fiesta.
