Oh. My. Goodness.  When I first started photographing weddings, I had a dream of one day being featured on Style Me Pretty. I submitted to them twice, both were turned down. But, how does that saying go again? Failing is not about falling down, but about not getting back up. I’m a firm believer that, if it’s your dream, to keep at it until it’s a reality.

Back in 2012, Lindsay and Brendan became engaged, with only two weddings under my belt (and no more for the foreseeable future), they wanted me to photograph their September 2013 wedding. What?! You’ve got to be kidding! I said no – more than once. I said no because I felt I wasn’t ready for such a big wedding. They argued with me about, “Look how far you’ve come in a year! By next year, you’re going to be amazing!” I believed them, but I didn’t believe enough in myself. Lindsay finally said, “Well, if you’re not going to do it, I’m going to start looking for another photographer.”

Okay – fine – I agreed. I took a leap of faith in myself.  I’m so glad I did. That was followed up by, “I want my wedding on Style Me Pretty.”  Okay. I’ll do my best… I know that they’re picky. I have already been turned down by them… More than once. My amazingly talented colleagues have been turned down. In fact, I can count on one hand the number of photographers that I know that have been published on Style Me Pretty. It was going to be a long shot – but I figured I’d give it a try… Again.

So here we are – April 2014 – So much has changed since Lindsay and Brendan booked me in 2012. I was able to meet and exceed my 2013 wedding booking goal – I was able to meet and exceed my 2014 booking goal –

The dream of being published on Style Me Pretty, became a reality.

Tonight we (Lindsay, Brendan and I) are cheering and toasting to an amazing journey, leap of faith and being on the biggest wedding blog in the industry!
