Robert + Victoria [Married] Downtown Austin // Austin Wedding Photographer

Say what? Howdy Y’all? You mean I’m in a state that ya’ll is an acceptable word? LOVE IT! That’s right – Austin, TEXAS!!

Last month a friend of mine approached me and asked me if I was busy Veteran’s Day weekend. I told her that I was free and I assumed that she wanted some family photos taken. The following week I was contacted by the Mother of the Bride asking if I was willing to fly to Austin to photograph her daughter’s wedding. Um… I guess if I have too… With in one week, flights were booked and arrangements had been made.  I could barely contain my excitement to visit a city I knew nothing about, to see a new city skyline and to celebrate love!

Three weeks later I hopped on a flight (which was delayed TWO hours due to fog) to Austin. From the moment I stepped off the plane it was exciting! I headed straight to the hotel where they were going to be holding the wedding the following day.  I crashed in on the rehearsal and briefly spoke with both Robert and Victoria. The following morning, we all got up and began getting ready for the festivities of the day.

Victoria wore a stunning lace gown with a small hooped skirt and her cathedral veil (swoon) was designed by Vera Wang. Those flowers – no they are not red peonies – they are piano roses. Simply beautiful and elegant.

The couple opted for a first look.  Having the first look not only allowed them more time to take fun portraits, but it also allowed them to visit with their guests more. Friends and family from all over the US came in to support and offer congratulations to the bride and groom.

Following the ceremony, everyone headed up to the 18th floor.  With Texas Memorial Stadium in the not so far distance and the lights of 6th Street the view of Downtown Austin was stunning.

Wishing the happy couple a lifetime of love and joy.

XoXo – Karey

Such a beautiful wedding, I absolutely love the photos of the little girl playing with the veil blowing in the wind, perfectly candid moment that makes me smile 🙂
