October Wedding at Elliston Vineyards in Sunol // Jim & Annie

There might be nothing more beautiful than an October wedding at Elliston Vineyards! I absolutely love photographing all the weddings there, but there’s something so special about fall weddings at the vineyard and Jim and Annie’s wedding was pretty much the perfect day! The world up here is so small, which is incredible – Annie was a teacher at my daughter’s school and Jim actually went to school with my sister too! Of course, that made their wedding just that much more special for me to photograph.

These two met on Match.com, and quickly fell in love. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I can’t believe how many of my couples of have met online! When it came time to propose, they took a trip to Lake Tahoe and were hiking around in the snow, when Jim got down on one knee (which is why we ended up going there for their engagement session, too!).

Jim and Annie kept it traditional and decided to opt out of a first look, so the first time Jim saw his bride was as she was walking down the aisle. His reaction to seeing Annie was so precious!! I loved it! What made it even more special was that they had a guitarist who was playing and singing during the ceremony. I love when my couples really personalize their ceremonies, and live music is a great way to do that.

Following their outdoor ceremony in front of the gazebo, everyone came inside for their indoor reception at Elliston Vineyards. Jim and Annie shared their first dance to one of my favorite songs, “The Rest of Our Life” by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and then they each shared a dance with their parents. But my favorite part of the reception was that they opted to have a donut bar – another amazing way to personalize the day!
