Spring Wedding at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton // Michael & Leah

Summertime is such a beautiful time for weddings, especially for a wedding at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton. With it’s beautiful entranceway with rows of palm trees and its elegant ballroom, it makes for a perfect wedding venue. I was so excited when Michael and Leah reached out for me to photograph their Jewish wedding at the Palm Event Center. And today, I’m even more excited to be sharing it on the blog!

How Michael and Leah Met

How these two teachers met, as told by Leah: Michael and I met as we were finishing up our undergraduate degrees in math. Yes…we are that nerdy math couple! We had a few classes together, but the first time we actually connected was during a group study session in the library. To this day, the two things Michael always talks about is: regardless how good he did on exams, I always got a better score than he did and he hates studying! Yet, he continued to follow me to the library and regularly asked if we could study together! To my surprise, I later found out he was hardly studying but rather giving us the chance to get to know each other and working up the courage to ask me to dinner!

When Michael asked Leah to marry him, he pulled off a great surprise proposal. On Leah’s 25th birthday, Michael secretly flew in her best friend (and maid of honor!) for the weekend, and then he popped the question at Shadowbrook in Capitola. Isn’t that so sweet?!

Their wedding at the Palm Event Center had many elements of a Jewish wedding, including the breaking of the glass, drinking of the wine together and walking seven circles around the groom. Of course their wedding reception also had the horrah, one of my favorite wedding dances! I loved walking taking advantage of all the different photo spots that the Palm Event Center has to offer for weddings, including the outdoor ceremony site, beautiful ballroom and wine cellar; plus the vineyards, of course.
