We’ve said this countless times before but it’s worth repeating – we love documenting weddings! It is absolutely fabulous working in such lively environments filled with so much energy and emotion. And what makes weddings great is the couple, of course, but also when the couple’s family and friends have such amazing personalities. Their charisma not only makes for memorable wedding pictures, but they also add to overall joy and celebration on a couple’s wedding day. Pamela and Eric’s Glenn Ranch wedding was an absolute blast to photograph. Their wedding party was so fun to work with – from the bridesmaids helping Pamela each step of the way to the groomsmen supporting Eric till the very end, these beautiful people made our day.
Eric and Pamela’s Love Story
What’s a great wedding story without hearing the couple’s origin story, right? Eric was the captain of a scuba charter vessel, the Lois Ann, in San Diego. Pam used to manage a dive shop and had organized a group of fourteen people to go on a trip to San Diego for three days of diving aboard the Lois Ann in September 2014. And that’s where it all began! Eric and Pamela met each other and went on two dates that weekend and thought that was it!
A few months later, Pamel and Eric were still talking and decided to go on a long group camping weekend in October with Eric’s friends. Later, they went to Las Vegas in November for a scuba industry trade show, and then by the time they saw each other in Tahoe the following March, they had already decided to move in together. Pamela moved to San Diego in April 2015.
Talking about their engagement, Pamela had organized a group trip to the Anse Chastanet Resort in St. Lucia in October of 2017. Several of her family friends, those she considers her family, were on this trip, as well as others from the San Diego dive trip as well. As luck would have it or because of some booking mistake, Erica and Pamela ended up with a beautiful private beachfront house for themselves! They had some cocktail parties for the whole group there, but scheduled one night during the week for a “just-us-date”. Continuing their proposal story, Pamela said “He asked, I of course said yes, (I will let him regale you of the tale of how I didn’t actually say “yes” – there’s some disagreement). When we met up with the group later that night it turned out my mom and family already knew about the plan and had even seen the beautiful custom ring he had made! I still can’t believe they had been able to keep it a secret for months, let alone just that week!”. Pamela’s mom and family are surely great confidants!
Pamela And Eric’s Glenn Ranch Wedding
With a love story that will last forever, Pamela and Eric celebrated their wedding at Glenn Ranch in Petaluma, California. For their wedding, Eric and Pamela invited their friends and family, including the people who were on that dive trip in San Diego and also the camping group. We had loads of fun photographing the girls as they got ready with Pamela. Plus, we also had the pleasure of meeting one of our past brides! She was one of Pamela’s bridesmaids and seeing her brought back so many memories.
Before their wedding ceremony, Eric and Pamela had a first look. The first look is one of our favorite moments during a wedding and we love photographing it. Wearing a gorgeous wedding dress from Willowby Brides, Pamela looked stunning. Eric waited patiently for Pamela and as he turned to see her his reaction spoke volumes of the love and happiness he felt looking at Pamela. It was such a sweet moment!
Eric and Pamela had a charming outdoor wedding at Glenn Ranch. The landscaping at the ranch was incredible with beautiful views of rolling hills and rustic barns offering a breathtaking backdrop for the wedding photos. The weather was pleasant with the sunlight casting a magical glow. After tying the knot, we whisked Eric and Pamela away for a few couples portraits.
Basking in their happiness, Eric and Pamela had eyes only for each other! We love to see that “just married glow” on our couple’s faces and capture the heartwarming moments they share. With its wide open fields surrounded by tall trees and dry grass, Glenn Ranch offered numerous picturesque spots for Eric and Pamela’s couples portraits and group photos. One of our favorite moments was when the wedding party jumped and threw their hands in the air! They were so AWESOME and we’re glad to have captured their excitement on camera.
Pamela and Eric’s wedding reception took place in a beautiful rustic barn adorned with golden lights. Everyone looked so happy to be there for them. Pamela’s brother’s parents-in-law gifted the newlyweds with customized cake-cutting utensils and they were engraved by one of the bridesmaids! It was such a thoughtful gift. Eric and Pamela had their first dance as husband and wife and swayed together to the music, looking into each other’s eyes and sharing soft kisses. Everything came together perfectly and the couple simply soaked in the moment of starting a new life together.
