Laura & King’s Wedding at Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon

Laura and King were married at The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon, California in a beautiful ceremony. Their big day incorporated timeless Chinese traditions that would demonstrate their love for each other and for their new families.

As the bride and her bridesmaids got ready for the day, Laura first changed into a traditional red, lacy gown.  This gown would be worn for the events that came before the wedding ceremony. The bridal party and family members met for door games. Simple games were prepared,  letting the groom show is love for his bride-to-be. Laughter filled the room as King hoisted a groomsman on his back and his other groomsmen hurried to eat a snack. After King proved himself, the bride’s father walked Laura in from another room and presented her to her groom-to-be.

After the playful door games, the guests headed downstairs to a traditional wedding tea ceremony. During this ceremony, Laura and King served each others’ families tea, symbolizing respect and commitment for their new families. Family members presented Laura with traditional gold jewelry, carefully fastening her bracelet and necklace.

With these beautiful traditions honored, it was time for Laura to change into her wedding gown. The lacy white gown had a sweetheart neckline, and it laced up the back. She held a big bouquet packed with peach, purple, and white flowers, and edged with greenery. As the ceremony began, the wedding party made their way through the beautiful grounds of The Bridges. Laura walked down the aisle with her parents, smiles on all of their faces. She greeted King with a hug at the end of the aisle. The golf course and rolling hills made a picturesque backdrop for their ceremony. Laura and King pledged their love to each other, exchanged rings, and were pronounced husband and wife. They sealed their new marriage with a kiss before happily heading back up the aisle.

After a newlyweds photo session, Laura and King made their way to the reception. As they were introduced as husband and wife, they danced through a tunnel of hands that the bridal party playfully made. For their first official dance as a married couple, the newlyweds danced a waltz that they had prepared. Another special dance was in store for the guests: a traditional lion dance to celebrate this important occasion. The costumed lions danced around the room to the beat of a gong and drum. The lions devoured a head of cabbage, and the couple offered them a platter of fruit.

Laura and King cut their elegant white wedding cake together, feeding each other the first bite. They had the traditional bouquet and garter tosses, and two of their youngest guests caught them. The celebration continued on the dance floor, with the happy couple and guests taking in the magical evening. Laura and King’s wedding honored old and new traditions, and was a beautiful start to their marriage.

“Karey was awesome! From the beginning, we loved her energy and personality. She was amazing on wedding day. She was our only shooter. She was quick and able to capture so much for a wedding of 250 guest. Her ability to grab people’s attention during large group photos was perfect, not too aggressive and just what we needed with a large Chinese family. I highly recommend Karey. Her photos came out beautiful.”
