Winter Wedding at Palm Event Center // Alyssa + Collin

Heart to heart, these two nurses tied the knot in a beautifully, romantic wedding at Palm Event Center in Pleasanton. Collin and Alyssa first met online while they were both in nursing school at CSU Bakersfield. Initially hesitant to meet up, Alyssa eventually agreed as the two had so much in common. A short while later while ice skating in Union Square (which is now an annual tradition), Collin proposed.

While many people would be nervous about a January wedding, these two took it in stride. Personally, I love the warm, crisp winter light that winter weddings offer and I have pretty solid rapport with the weather and the rain gods, so it’s always beautiful. Since we were in the winter months, Collin and Alyssa opted for a first look so we could complete their photographs before the ceremony. As sweet as can be, Collin teared up when he saw his stunning bride-to-be. There was nothing that could tear these two apart. Staying quiet, I let the two of them revel in their moment together.

Collin and Alyssa said their vows in the Estate Room of Palm Event Center. Flanked by drapery and chandeliers, they read personal vows that they had written to each other. Bushing away tears, both Collin and Alyssa, smiled and giggled during the ceremony – everything that a commitment should be. A private sand ceremony was conducted before they were pronounced husband and wife.

As their reception kicked off, Collin and Alyssa started the night by dancing to Emily Hackett’s, “Take My Hand,” and the room stood still. During their first dance, you could easily palpate their love for one another. They held each other tight, exchanged kisses, and stayed forehead to forehead, blocking out any surrounding sound and light. It was just the two of them in that moment.

As the night continued, guests were treated to a late-night pizza station, donut flambé, and yummy french fry bar! Collin and Alyssa jumped in the photobooth with guests and celebrated their love.

What did Alyssa and Colin think of working with Karey?

“Karey is beyond amazing! After booking our venue, she was the first vendor we decided on… which was the best decision ever. From the beginning, Karey was professional, organized, and helpful in far more aspects than just the photography. She offered help with finding vendors, forming a timeline, and much more. Going into the wedding, I felt extremely confident in Karey and she did not let us down. The day of the wedding, Karey helped keep everyone on track, was encouraging, fun, and helped make sure my husband and I felt so confident. We are currently only 2 weeks out from our wedding at The Palm Event Center. The day after the wedding we got to see 1 sneak peak on social media and have already received 100 (!!!!) sneak peaks to hold us over until we get the entire gallery soon. We are absolutely blown away by Karey’s talent. The pictures are more amazing than we could have ever imagined. She captures the perfect mixture of posed and candid moments and uses natural lighting so beautifully. We cannot stop looking at these pictures and can hardly believe that we have so many more coming! Our wedding turned out perfect and Karey played a huge role in that. I highly recommended booking with Karey. She is one wedding planning decision you will never regret!” Colin, The Knot
